Session 1 July 7, 2026
7:00 - 9:15 pm ET
(2 hours 15 minutes) 

  1. Fertility Options 101: Learn the foundations of fertility care and gain a better understanding of fertility methods such as IUI, IVF, egg freezing, and genetic testing.

  2. Implications Counselling: Many fertility clinics require a consultation for those using 3rd party reproductive services (donor egg/sperm/embryo, surrogacy). Learn all about implications counseling for clients and report writing for clinics. 

Session 2 July 14, 2026
7:00 - 9:15pm ET
(2 hours 15 minutes) 

  1. Ethical decision-making: Using case examples, learn practical skills to help your clients make difficult decisions about fertility issues, such as “when do I stop trying?”, “do I want another child?”, and “should I use a gestational carrier?”

  2. Mental health concerns in fertility: Learn about the biopsychosocial impact on the individual and couple, language to use/avoid, when to consider referring to an MD, and safety of antidepressants when trying to conceive.

Meet the instructor

Dr. Bev Young 

CMO and Co-Founder, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Bev is a psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience in women’s mental health care. Before co-founding BRIA, Dr. Bev developed and led two of the largest perinatal psychiatry programs in Ontario: the Reproductive Life Stages Program at Women’s College Hospital and the Perinatal Mental Health Program at Mount Sinai Hospital. She is a pioneer in telemedicine services for the perinatal population, and has been using virtual care to treat patients across Ontario since 2014. As a leader in her field, she is relentlessly dedicated to improving access to high quality reproductive psychiatric care in Canada, and has trained many other perinatal psychiatrists. You will meet Dr. Bev in a MAXI assessment and for mental healthcare.
